The Lost IT Employee

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

In the heart of Nagpur, is the IT PARK, a place of thriving software technology that has it all. From Startups to Global players, from BPO’s to CTRM based companies, the Nagpur IT PARK has become a choice of workplace for many engineers.

Lost in Thought

Every day between 12-3 PM though something peculiar takes place in this area. You will see many individuals, wandering on the footpath, or sitting by themselves on the curbside having their chai and cigarette, lost in thought. These are the Lost IT Employees of Nagpur.

Lost in thought about what they are doing in that job. Sitting in front of that screen, eight to twelve hours a day, patching broken codes, performing quality analysis on software whose business they do not understand or are not interested in understanding and providing technical support to customers who they do not care about.

A Place for Everyone

COVID engulfed many jobs in Nagpur. IT PARK of Nagpur restored many of them by providing employment to the unemployed. An Electric Engineer who used to work in the field, now sits in front of the computer providing software support. An entrepreneur whose fast growing startup was crushed in the lock down, now works under a manager to cover the financial losses he endured, constantly thinking about how to start a new venture. Then there are others who are there because they have to, not because they want to.

Some have a family loan to pay, others just need money every month to run their home. Many such stories can be seen between these three hours. Three hours of thoughts going through the minds of these lost souls. Just by looking at their faces one can tell that they don't belong there.

These lost IT employees are thankful to the IT industry for providing their life stability and income. However, they have a hope, a hope that one day they will be doing the work that they like. One day pressure on the job will become a challenge to overcome and not a stress in their life which they want to run away from. One day, they hope, they won't be a LOST IT EMPLOYEE, but an individual with a thriving career, climbing the ladder of progress and enjoying those three hours, not lost, but being found.
